Welcome to Country with Jaeden Williams
Outside: 12:10PM to 12:35PM
Y(Our)Fest South Melbourne 2025 will begin with a Welcome to Country with Jaeden Williams - a proud Yalukit Willam man of the Boonwurrung; founder and director of Biik Bundjil, a Boonwurrung educational organisation.
Jaeden is such an incredible storyteller and inspires kids (and grown ups!) of all ages to learn about Culture and connect with Country.

NGARGEE YOUTH DANCE
12:35PM - 12:50PM
'Ngargee' (pronounced Nar- ghee) means 'Ceremony' in the language of the Boonwurrung People of the Kulin Nation. Ngargee Dance Group is a collective of First Nations young women living on the lands of the Kulin Nation in the suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The program is ran under the cultural guidance of Senior Boonwurrung Elder, N'arweet Carolyn Briggs with the support of other First Nations dancers and creatives.

L2R AFRODANCE WORKSHOP

Join Urlik and Abul from L2R for a fun and energetic afrodance workshop!
L2R Dance is a not-for-profit L2R Dance is a not-for-profit organisation based in Melbourne’s West dedicated to providing free dance programs, arts leadership opportunities and employment pathways for children and young people traditionally underrepresented or absent from mainstream arts and culture.

PORT MELBOURNE PRIMARY SCHOOL'S MODERN CHOIR

Kids from the Port Melbourne Primary School Modern Choir will take to the stage at Y(Our)Fest!
We can’t wait to welcome these brave young singers and their families, celebrating creativity and community through song.
Thank you to Performing Arts Teacher and Modern Choir Convener, Maria Chadwick, for supporting this performance!

SIVA ON GUITAR
2:15PM - 2:35PM
Young high-school performer, Siva, will perform both classical guitar and electric guitar pieces for the Y(Our)Fest audience.
Classically trained, Siva also has a love for electric guitar. He is a regular busker in St Kilda and this will be his first festival performing on stage!

MILLA WILLIAMS
2:45PM - 3:20PM
Milla Williams is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who creates soulful chilled vibes with covers of Jorja Smith, Lianne La Havas, SZA, as well as her own material. Milla has performed at festivals including the Begonia Festival, Hide+Seek Fest, and White Night Ballarat.
She has also released a track on Sonika Records and has one coming out with Scottish rap artist Conscious Route in the UK this year. Milla is working on her debut EP - stay tuned!

KEN SHING
3:35PM - 4:15PM
Ken Shing is a Melbourne/Naarm based singer-songwriter, whose sound blends contemporary pop influences with his signature post-disco funk style. In his music, Ken Shing speaks universal truths from his unique perspective, discussing topics such as family values, celebrating queer love, and navigating the world as a queer person of colour.

TARGET AUDIENCE
4:30PM - 5:00PM
Target Audience is a four piece indie-punk outfit hailing from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Combining the melodies of The Strokes, the punk spirit of The Ramones and an insane and completely unmissable stage presence, they make a unique blend that is guaranteed to knock your socks off! After releasing two classic tunes, Tori Angel and its b-side You're Sick, the 4 have been taking the Melbourne music scene by storm, it'd be a mistake to miss them!

Mums are invited to join a free 30 minute Singing Mamas workshop with your baby / babies at Sol Green Community Centre (inside the lounge).
